The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time

Some of us have personal lifestyles that we want to share out to the world but not emotionally.... I've read this book called "The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time" like 4 times & it's a reminder about being ourselves. It's about showing the outside world about us. I'm not talking about a dead dog here. Nope.
"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" is an interestingly ‘out of the ordinary’ kind of a novel. By this proclamation – Out of the Ordinary – I intend to suggest the author’s brilliance for giving a unique voice to the narrator, Christopher John Francis Boone, who is a rare character I hardly meet in novels. It is therefore a privilege to read about this character who has a special kind of disability I have barely read about.
Although you would not find in a single sentence the mention of Asperger disorder, a condition with which the narrator is battling with, we are informed by his condition through his voice and with his interaction with the people around him.
Partly mystery, the story begins that Christopher John Francis Boone spots a dead dog on the lawn of a neighbor’s house and as he approaches the dead dog, he works his way out to solving how the dog got killed. As he takes upon himself to investigate this mystery, he soon finds himself with the police – perhaps – he becomes a prime suspect as he is the only person seen with the dead dog on the lawn. Later, his investigation would take him from house to house, trying every means possible to find out who might have caused this harm to the dog.
The mystery aside, we get to learn more about Christopher’s likes and dislikes and we come to learn about his brilliance in mathematics. With this, he chooses to write his story with numbered paragraphs: the numbers are prime numbers starting from 2, then 3, then 5, and so on. Christopher knows all the countries of the world and their capitals and every prime number. He does not like the colour yellow. His enthusiasm for animals is evident in the story – for instance – he loves to be around dogs.
Written in a clear and coherence language, you will ultimately love this story and would find humor and emotions not neglected from this wonderfully told story. I am certainly convinced that this story is for all – in that – both young adults and adults would read this and find it so meaningful, understandable and worth reading. You are certain to have compassion for people living with Asperger disorder by the end of reading this book.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time won the Commonwealth Writer’s prize in 2004 for Best First book and the 2003 Whit bread Book of the Year.
You see, the author sees himself as the boy in the story. When I read it, I see myself as the boy trying to figure out what life is all about. We are still trapped in a child's world and we are still a child at heart. Sometimes I feel sorry and more love for these type of kids who have Asperger disorder. You know it's like watching a Shah Rukh Khan movie in "My Name Is Khan" and we feel sorry for that person. They teach us a lot from who we are naturally its either from the inside or from the outside.

My next blog will be about compassion towards the living. Until then, we meet again.

The Many Varieties of Roti John

Our Roti John Jepun & Hong Kong
Mouth watering 'c(=
How many of us have eaten or tried out Roti John in Malaysia? Its a well known cuisine in Malaysia. I had this dish a long time ago sometime like 2 years ago. The best Roti John I've ever had was in Restoran Subaidah located at 30 & 32 Jalan PJS 8/11, Dataran Mentari, Bandar Sunway, 46150 Petaling Jaya. The have funny names given to each bread. What they do is they toast the bread & create the bread they see according to the menu. My favorite is called Roti John Hong Kong. What its made of? The base is a square white bread with an egg concoction on the top and the mince beef or chicken inside the bread Then, it's fried on a flat grill pan till it's a bit brown. It's really a mouth watering dish you will come back for more. I liked it & I would love to have more. The other dish is called Roti John Jepun (Japan in English). The base is a square white bread with fried egg on the top with a few french fries wit some sliced carrot & fruits. This is also a must have dish. The ones above are just 2 of 15 Roti John's on the menu.... Want to know more about the delicacies of these breads? Just go to the restaurant & ask for Roti John Hong Kong ;)

Until then, we meet again in my next blog....
